Cookie Notice
Last updated: 6 July 2026
The short version
Phantovante uses strictly necessary technical storage plus one optional, opt-in service: OneSignal web-push notifications. We do not run analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking pixels. Push stays off unless you actively turn it on, so nothing here follows you around the web — there is no consent banner blocking the page, just a small dismissible notice.
What is actually stored
- Cookie-notice preference. When you dismiss the small notice at the bottom of the screen, we save a single value in your browser’s local storage (
phv-cookie-ack) so it doesn’t reappear on every page. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device. - Essential server function. Our hosting provider may set standard technical cookies required to serve the site securely (for example, load-balancing or basic security). These are strictly necessary and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- OneSignal web-push (only if you opt in). If you allow notifications, OneSignal registers a service worker and stores a small amount of data in your browser (local storage / IndexedDB), including an anonymous push subscription token, so it can deliver messages. Nothing is stored for push unless you accept the browser permission prompt.
What we do NOT use
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social-media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site or third-party profiling of any kind.
Why there’s no “Accept / Reject” banner
Consent banners exist to gate tracking cookies, and we don’t use any advertising or analytics trackers. The one optional service — OneSignal web-push — has its own explicit opt-in: your browser’s native permission prompt together with the subscribe checkbox, an express opt-in under PIPEDA, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and Québec’s Law 25. You are never subscribed without taking that action, and you can revoke it at any time in your browser settings.
Web-push notifications (OneSignal)
If you opt in, web-push notifications are delivered through OneSignal Inc., our notification service provider, for the purpose of sending you updates. OneSignal processes an anonymous push subscription token (and, if you submit it through the form, your email address and name) on our behalf. Consent is express and opt-in, and you can unsubscribe at any time by revoking notification permission in your browser. OneSignal is based in the United States, so this data may be processed there. For the full picture, see our Privacy Policy.
Managing storage yourself
You can clear the single stored value at any time through your browser’s settings (clear site data / local storage for phantovante.com). Doing so simply means the small cookie notice will show again on your next visit.
